Judging from the scale of the type and bar code on the surface piece is sitting on I would assume that it is a tightening screw for the front part of a metal cutting hacksaw blade. Why there were several in boat is unclear uless someone may have adapted its use for another task.

Identify this

It's a tension screw. This type is used when: a. you dont what to torque or twist what you are securing, or b. so that tension can be changed with a single hand. I have seen them used in several applications. Usually at one or four attachment points. On your boat? No idea unless for securing equiptment.

I think you might be right E. Hoitt

about the hacksaw. There were so many on my boat, I assumed it was nautically related. Oh well, just wanted to ask first. The last time I couldn't identify a part, just before tossing it, I posted a message and it turned out to be a "tiller tamer" which is one of the most used items on my boat. WHEW! Thanks

port hole latch

Looks like the opening port hole latch on my O'day 28. But then it looks like a hack saw tensioning screw too. I'd look around the boat at the opening lids, hatches, ports etc. and see if there is any missing hardware. Bon Chance
