I have a Hunter 33 and have NEVER been up a mast. Can I / should I climb the mast while the boat is in the cradle on the hard? I would like to make my inspections prior to hitting the water. I weigh about 220, I could also send up the Admiral and save about 100 pounds of mass. Thanks Ernie S/V Cindy Lou

My yard...

...Advised against this, but my boat was on stands at that time (not a cradle). They felt the dangers of falling to the ground and possibly knocking the boast off the stands were not worth the risk. --Jon Bastien H25 'Adagio'

NO!

You're asking for trouble. Just picture youself at the end of a lever pulling the boat over. It's not recommended.

up the mast!!!!!

No problem with doing it. Just take your spinnaker halyard and your main halyard 90 degrees and 270 degrees from the boat (as she sits on the cradle) and fasten them to fixed anchor points. If the admiral is up to it, go ahead and save the 100 lbs and use her. I would inspect the cradle also to make sure its not fatigued!...good luck
