ok communication question, just got my new boat, has Datamarine CS100 Knot/temp guage, appears to be working fine now that it has power:dance:, Have datamarine CD400 Depth guage with XDCR transducer connection, traced wire found it has been cut and transducer has been replaced, looked on the internet appears i have a Airmar B744V Triducer speed, temp, depth. connector has been cut:cussing:, has white, red, green, brown, blue, black wires like 20guage, I have looked at all there websites and have not got much help so,
Questions
1. Is there any possible way to connect the triducer to the datamarine Cd400?
2. Can I replace the triducer cable without pulling triducer or getting wet?
3. What will that Triducer connect to for under 500.00
4. Is there a surface mount/non thru hule transducer i can hook to the datamarine unit.
i would love to keep the matching set of datamarine since they are right next to each other and in great shape visually, ANY SUGESTIONS, or ideas will be apprciated.

Airmar makes the majority of transducers for marine use. If the wiring is the same color and number of wires, often the transducers are interchangeable. I used an Airmar transducer that was supplied with Raymarine ST60 gear with my TackTick instruments.

What does the CD400 have for wiring?? How many wires, what colors?

Most transducers can be used through-the-hull, provided you have a solid fiberglass hull with no voids in it. To check a location, put a plastic bag full of water down against the hull and put the transducer on it and see if it gives an accurate reading.

Unfortunately just because the wiring colors are the same the units may not be compatible. The frequencies, etc. do vary. Call Airmar and give them the info you have. They are very helpful. Chuck

the cd400 has coax type connector...i will email airman and see what they say, just wanted to see what i got from here.
