Hmmmmm, Maybe

Hey Wes, This towing thing is getting out of hand at times...It depends on what your looking for...and how far, and what kind of control if placed in a sticky situation.... As for your question, If your taking it down to Santa Cruz or to southern Cal. for a trip out to the islands, and you travel with a fair amount of caution..go for it....but if your thinking about taking it up to the lake, I wouldnt advise it..... You dont want to put yourself in a position where the boat would overpower the auto...like down hill in a corner... Randy

Hmmmmm Maybe Not

Hey Wes, You need to remember that your boat will easily "weigh in" at somewhere between 5,000 lbs and 6,500 lbs (depending on engine, extra sails, fuel, gear, etc) and that your trailer probably weighs at least 1,000 lbs. That's a potential tow weight of 7,500 lbs. I personally know of two C25s that have so much gear that they tow at over 11,000 lbs (hot/cold pressure water, inboard engine, refrigerater/ice maker, etc). So, check carefully the towing rating for your Olds. My guess is that you'll have the tail wagging the dog. And, it's easy to rent a 3/4 ton or 1 ton 4X4 truck for a couple days that will tow your boat easily and safely. Bill Holcomb - C25 Snickerdoodle #4839
