Can I replace just my rotovecta or do I have to replace the ST40 as well?

I am pretty sure I cannot put a proper anemometer and flag at the top of my mast and hook it up to my ST40 wind display but I thought I would ask. Assuming I cannot, would I also need to replace the wiring between the two?

You shouldn't have to replace the ST40. Not sure about the masthead connection.
I had to replace the conventional wind transducer this year because of physical damage, and it was " plug and play" . ( My gauge is ST60 vintage)
I did not need to replace the cable.
