Attached is a photo of the area in my H34 is under the settee forward and abutting to the galley. I am wondering if I can drill on the flat portion as indicated in the attached photo. I have a new water heater that I would like to attach there.

NOTE: I am using a photo of the area I found on the boards and this does not (necessarily) reflect the condition of mine.

Thanks... Jon

I all depends on how deep you want to drill:D

If you just want to drill though the pan enough to attach the hot water tank I don't think it would be a problem. I'm going to attach a picture of what my floor looked like under the tank when I pulled the floor. I also going to attach what it looked like after.
You can seen that the floor has been cut away to accommodate the hot water tank. There's a couple of stringers that the tank now sits on. I going to strap it down instead of bolting it down.

I think you may have a couple of inches of void before you hit the hull.

Thanks Don... Great reference picture! I think I only need about 3/8" so that will be great! I like how you cut away the sole... you now have me thinking about that! Thanks again! Jon

I can't take credit for cutting away the floor the previous owner had that done.
