Can anyone identify this electrical connector?

This connector is on my 1984 3GMF engine. One lead attaches to the altenator. The other leads into the wiring harness that I have removed some of the tape from (fresh looking wires). It is currently not connected to anything and I can’t find a connection point with reach of it. I’m thinking it may be for an option not installed on my engine. Anybody that can identify it?? Thanks!

It that is on the back of the engine, it is probably for a SailDrive unit. not needed otherwise. ADD+ maybe look at the back of the engine by the bell housing for a similar unused connector.

Thanks for the replies! Were sail drives available in 1984?

White / Red Tracer & Black are used for the sail drive rubber seal switch / sensor. No sail drive, no use...

I think that’s the transgenetive power connector for your fitzmeldurated penambulation converter. I could be wrong though.

A few weeks ago someone asked the same question. I think he wanted to use that wire/power for some other purpose, though. Maybe he will chime in with what he eventually did???
