Can you elaborate on your response.
Maybe it does need a little more elaboration than what I've supplied so far.
You showed a picture of a gauge which we identified as your engine's temperature gauge.
When you mentioned that :
the red light came on and I’m not sure what it is.
....................... I assumed that there was a connection between the gauge and the red light visual alarm i.e. you were getting a high temperature engine alarm which is a most unwelcome event which has to be solved and corrected ASAP.
For openers, make the gauge a little easier to read by wiping the face with soapy water. Next, run your engine while tied to the dock and watch what the temp. goes up to. If it stays around 170 - 180 you need to apply more load. Take the boat out and load up the engine and watch for overheating.
If you're comfortable trouble-shooting an overheating engine, start digging and let us know what you find. If not, maybe some more elaboration before you get into trouble.
