Can anyone give me info about a Helms sailboat.

I purchased a 1973 Helms 25' sailboat from a friend. Does anyone have any useful information they can share with me? Any and all information about Helms sailboats would be welcomed.

There was a boat which might be a Helms which might have its origin from Catalina. I think I remember seeing one on my lake years ago. Similar windows etc. Rumor had it that the manufacturer used to be with Catalina in the early years. I may be thinking of another boat but maybe this is it.

Kevin, those boats were manufactured in the Columbia, SC area -- maybe Lexington or Irmo, SC back in the 70's. They were very well built boats for that era, but, along with a bunch of others, they probably didn't survive the Luxury Tax in 1991 or 1992. Thank you Mr. Congressman for protecting us from "too much consumin' going on" (Mr. Fritz Hollings, D SC). Don't know what you could find out in an Email address search for that area. One of the dealers in that area may be able to put you in touch with someone left over from Helms in that area. You may want to try.
