We found this item on our boat. We have no idea what it may be - or even if it belongs on a boat in the first place. Does anyone have any idea what it may be? I think you can get an idea of it's approximate size from the photo - it's abut 14 inches tall, and the wide part is about 18 inches wide. We've ruled out cup holders, towel rack, and most other things...I'm about to admit that it's a display case for a nautical altimeter... :)

Thanks!

Boat thing

It's a horseshoe buoy holder. Attach it to your stern pulpit with hose clamps and put a horseshoe buoy in it, preferably attached to a man overboard pole.

Ding! 10 Points..!

I almost had a feeling that's what it was - didn't make any connection because there was no H/B included , and we supplied our own from previous boat with a U-shaped holder clamped on the transom rail...

Any body need a horseshoe buoy holder? :)
