good luck!

I don't know the answer to your question, but there are dozens of aftermarket catologs (on-line and print version) that you must go through. We have a 1986 Hunter 31. Last year this time, the plastic sheeves on the starboard deck organizer shattered and the starboard cheek block sheeve did the same. We had to pry up both. NO cheekblock matched: we looked everywhere and finally bought one that was close and spent as much $ again to have it grinded and mounted on a piece of stainless. The organizer could use one of the two pre-drilled holes on deck, the other we mounted as best we could. Jeeze, I hope we don't have to go thru that with the clutch(es). It is still a great boat, just aging. Take care, Joe

Why bother..

...with the old clutches? Mine were sound but worn and I found handling to be too cumbersome. Replaced them with a pair of Lewmar clutches that work like a dream. It was a quick and easy fix. Happy sailing! Andreas

Rope Clutches

I second that last thought. The original equipment clutches from the 80's just eat up the halyards. The newer models have cams instead of serated teeth. You will likely find tha the mounting holes are different spacings which will require drilling and tapping (hunter has aluminum backing plates built into the cabintop). Fill the old holes full depth with Marinetex to prevent leaks into the sandwich construction.
