I am ready to install a new refrigerator unit in my boat, and it's now down to an Isotherm SP unit or a regular fan-based air-cooled unit (by Frigotherm). Some Isotherm SP owners have been kind enough to give me their own experiences, but they have generally been in temperate climate areas, not the warm-water tropic areas.
Specifically, I am wondering how the SP units perform while at anchor in calm anchorages in the warm water tropic areas. Anybody have any experiences in these areas with them? How did they perform? Any observations on increased power consumption, or decreased cooling ability, vs. air-cooled units in the same environs?
