Hello all!
I'm Tim, a Lake Tahoe sailor who will be in Ft. Myers the week after next. I am running into a little dificulty finding a bareboat for a single day charter. We will have a group of six so I'll need a decent size boat.

I would LOVE any and all suggestions regarding:
1. an itinerary and areas to cruise
2. good charter companies that might work with us
3. ...... anything else I should look into.

I'm a crew member with Disney on Ice and we are a very fun bunch. I would also be super open to going out with a fun boat owner. I wouldn't want to cross any lines, but there is nothing wrong with us filling the tanks and providing food and wine! Maybe some comp tickets, if it's of interest?

Any help is great. I'm typing this from not so sunny San Francisco. Great sailing but we would all love to do some swimming and break out the bathing suits.

Thanks!
Tim

Tim,

Check out SouthWest Florida Yachts (see URL below). Burnt Store marina is close by and dumps you right into Charlotte Harbor--great cruising spot. Don't know if they do day charters. Others in this area will probably respond with some sources.

Check out the latest issue of Cruising World (see URL below) for an article about cruising the area. All the spots identified are worth visiting.

Tim,
I apologize for the outburst. This isn't the place. I have sent you an e-mail as you suggested.

Tim,

Once again, I sincerely apologize.

Here is a good charter in Ft. Myers Beach: www.sundancesailing.net/ Not a bareboat but Capt. Dave is very cool.

I really wish I could take you out myself but my boat is not ready to sail.

.....wow!

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the referral and the Cruising World link. We chartered Southwest Florida Yachts' Hunter 29 "Magic". It was an easy decision to do a two day charter once we arrived here in Florida.

What a fantastic experience. SWF Yachts and Captain Mark were super easy to work with. The bareboat check out was quick and painless and the boat was well equipped and prepared.

Day one we explored Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound. Lunch at Cabbage Key was fantastic. Spent the night on the hook off of Ussepa (sp?) Island. Day two was spent sailing the Gulf with perfect conditions.

This is truly a sailors paradise..... Thanks for the help!

Tim
