on a 1980 S2 8(b). I have an opportunity to pick one up very reasonably. It has a 15hp OMC gas engine with an outdrive and the deep draft fixed keel. It seems to be a fairly light boat, but stiff. Has anyone had any experience sailing or maintaining one? Thanks in advance.

You will love the S2. It is a well made boat that handles nice in almost any kind of weather. I have S2 7.3 with a draft of 2'10" that handles nice. I like the OMC Saildrive it's so much easer to dock when you don't need to hang over the stern to control the motor.
