Great Piece of Work Site Joe

You did a fantastic piece of work there. Your web site is a really good resouce for anybody making the trip. Is there any chance you'll be coming up the coast now? If so, I'd really look forward to what you come up with along the Northern California coast because there aren't that many places to duck into. Actually probably not that much different from the southern coast. Checked out the picture of Santa Cruz - looks a little different from how I remember it. No roller coaster, for example. Hopefully you don't change your URL for a while! Thanks again for all the work and sharing everything with us because it is really great!

- - Sewell Marina - West Vancouver
Now it is time to come up to our neck of the water

A number of experienced California sailors bring their boats up to the greater Vancouver, BC area and moor it here for a year. Since you will only be accessing your boat a few times during the year, many will moor at a cheaper location, like Gibson's BC (a link is provided). Gibson is a short ferry ride from Vancouver and is the reason the marina is cheaper there. I have a friend who has his 27 foot boat moored for around $1500 Canadian a year; that would be around 15-20% cheaper for you as American dollars go further. From Gibson's or another marina on Bowen Island ( http://www.bowen-island-bc.com/ ), you are a short jump to all the terrific boating available around here, from the San Juan Islands to Desolation Sound, or even Alaska if you are so inclined. I'll be looking forward to your second "book" when you do that trip. Very well done.
