Happened across an abandoned Cal 27 on ebay today - current bid is $800 with a day left? I mean, sure it needs some work, but wow.Are those boats comparably as advanced as their 40 foot cousins?
Yes, I know. Not planning on buying it - I only bought my hunter (first boat) two months ago, and taking it out of the water this weekend. Just makes me wonder if I knew I was planning on keeping her in the water, I may have avoided the trailering / swing keel bit.
Specifically, the elk river. It's too shallow, really. I can't put my keel down - but it works for now! Next season, I will have moved to Rochester ny (lake ontario), and the hunter is coming with!
I am sure you will like it. I have sailed both the Chesy and the Delawere. Where you are there is not much action. You have to be down the Cheaspeake more to get to any nice areas. Then the price goes up!The river is nice becuase you can sail to Phila.
