Cabin Table

Does anyone have a good way to drop the cabin table for sleeping? It appears that you have to lift and swing the table away to provide access to the pedestal shaft holding the table up. Then you need to lift the pedestal shaft up and out of the hole. The puzzling thing about this is the pedestal shaft runs all the way down to and bottoms out in the bilge. There is a locking collar on the pedestal base leading one to think that the shaft simply drops down out of the way. Is this how all hunters are set up?

First loosen the set screw on the collar on the pedestal and then push the table down and tighten the set screw to hold the table down. This works best with the leaf in the up position which give you better access to the set screw with the table down and then fold the leaf down when you are finished. You may have to sit on the table to get it all the way down. Good luck.

Push down HARD

Gerald is correct. There is a high-pressure gas cylinder/spring unit in the table pedestal. I had to completely dissassemble the pedestal to figure this out. There is no mention of this mechanism in my owner's manual!
