My 28.5ft Hunters cabin table does not fold down to create a bed. However I see the same boat advertised with folding table. Was this an option or after market conversion? I would like info on conversion as it would making the cabin beds condiderably wider.

It folds down...

on either side of the compression post, but does not (was not designed to) move up and down the post to make a berth. Would have been a FABULOUS idea, but never happened. I owned an '87 model for 7 years. The only "conversion" will have to come from your imagination, I'm guessing it CAN be done, but nothing ready made is available.

The 35.5 table has a folding leaf and it also slides on the compression post, all standard. When dropped down with the leaf up, a cushion is added to complete a huge double. Hunter had a good idea with this one. I'm sure you can build a similar setup for the 28.5.

Hunter 25 bed

While we are on the topic of beds, has anyone figured out a great way to put a comfortable bed on a 25. I am going to do something this spring so that I can sleep on the boat. The salon berths are two narrow and I'm too claustorphobic (sp?) for the v-berth. My plan, so far, is to span the cabin from port to starboard and then use an air bed. Any other ideas before I commit to this? Thanks.
