Teak/holly veneer on our 86 H31 is delaminating in one area next to the galley locker adjacent to the settee. Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so is there a fix (other than replacing the cabin sole, which I don't even want to think about)? Any advice appreciated.

Bite the bullet

Exotic Woods in White Hall, Md., has good prices on the marine plywood teak-holly veneer. I just did my 26.5 for $172.

Another Approach

Hack out the rot with a RotoZip and scab in a chuck of Home Depot plywood, Cover it with a cheap carpet and get over it (it's only a Hunter)

We covered ours with Loncoin!

B.S.: We covered that area with a product that they use in the Catalinas. It is called Loncoin. I actually got the product from Catalina (yes, can you imagine Catalina stuff in a Hunter <g>). I cut the piece to fit and used spray contact cement. This stuff will be there when the boat in gone. These photos are in the photo forum. The first one is corrupt, but the second shows the product.

I just talked to a local wood floor refinisher.

He bid our home floor refinishing work. He will use Swedish finish. He will also sell some to me for redoing my boat floors. That stuff is epoxy. Tough as nails. It should work well on soles. Anybody tried it?
