Had to replace one of eight pieces of my cabin sole. Older pieces look like they have an orange shade to them. Even the holly is slightly tinted. I am using a water based satin (Target Coatings) finish on the new piece. That is what Catalina used. New pieces are obviously different in color. The teak is more of a brown. I tried just coating the new piece with the satin finish and it actually looked worse so I stripped it to start all over again. What to you suggest to get the correct shade? I am thinking to use teak oil but not sure how the water based varnish will take. Suggestions and comments please. Launch is less than one month away. Thanks.
