Hi Woody,

Much appreciate the followup input. I'm in Fort Myers FL for winter and will be finishing the flooring project for my 9.1 S2 in May. The help you (and others on this site) have provided has been invaluable!

Will provide a summary of my completed project in about a month or so.

Cabin Sole Varnish remains sticky!

Hi, I am still working on the cabin sole for my S2 9.2 and in the process of putting on the floor varnish on the teak and holly veneer boards (outside of the boat but inside of a large "cool" building in Port Washington, WI).

I'm using Epifanes clear varnish and have thinned the first few coats and have come across a scary problem.....one of the boards has an area which seems to remain "tacky" or sticky even after drying for about 20 hours. I'm wondering if I should just wait another day or try to remove the sticky area with some chemical? Admittedly, the building where I'm doing this is cold and damp and no sun (55 degrees F). But, why would the other boards be dry and just the one is a bit tacky?

What to do if it doesn't dry? I have to keep going - need to do the varnish once/day to get the recommended 9 coats done!
