I just bought a 1984 Cal 30. The cabin lights, 5 x 5 in, are all corroded, both the bulb holder and slide switch, anyone know where replacement lights or parts can be located. Thanks

I tried ordering replacement lights from Catalina

Direct but they only have the newer style ones that set in a recess in the fiberglass. My only suggestion is to shop the chandlery sites for a light that has the same demographics as the old ones and replace. You can find better looking ones that will work for not much money. If you've got a dry boat, consider RV parts sources. Good luck! It's a fun project and not too hard.

You can find replacement cabin lights at www.minneysyachtsurplus.com in Costa Mesa, CA. I just ordered eight round lights that switch white-off-red and have a nice brass base. They have them in Stainless also. -Jack

Minney's lights

Although I'm a fan of Minney's and never miss a chance to stop by and pick something up, I have to put in a word of caution on their brass/stainless cabin lights. The cabin lights I bought looked good. I have several of the red/off/white lights. The problem I'm running into is the switches don't seem to be marine grade and in just a year or so have fallen apart or just quit working. You get what you pay for and Minney's has a lot of GREAT deals. I'm just not sure these lights are one of them. John Gajdos C-30 "Chiara Mia" Morro Bay, CA.
