Paul, how strong are the magnetic type? I would like to try them but I keep books in one cabinet and I wonder if when heeling far over in rough seas the magnetic type will hold.

Latch

In my opinion there is no way to tell without trying it. I think the latch cost about $2.00. If it isn't holding on that particular door because of the weight switch it to another type. They have a wide variety.

i needed the same kind of latch for my cabin engine door, and catalina parts claimed to have no idea where to get one. if they don't know, who does? anyway,i just used a simple hook latch, but it does not look elegant.
