Alan,
Hope the pic is not the completed job. By the way you forgot to take the roll of blue paper away - just to the s/board side of the missing engine. And what fits in the "black hole" under the cooker apace ?.
Today Kevin and I spent a total of 8 man hours sanding down all the wood work in the two cabins. To-morrow I intend to give this wood a couple of coats of Danish Oil. Please reply immediately (anyone) if this is the wrong thing to do. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hello - I wouldn't use an oil in that situation. Better to use a good
varnish, like Interlux Gold Seal. Most oils aren't very durable and tend to collect
dirt. Just my opinion, Bill Bach V1071

Hello Kevin et al

That was to repair 3" hole for an ancient depth sounder sender. On
the outside there was a 6" teardrop fairing. I may have overdone the
taper to glass in the hole. I had a similar repair for a log in the
hanging locker.

I am going to use a polyurethane "varnish" on the new wood on the
inside.
