Heard a bad rumor that the Oday has had problems with cracks between the cabin and the decking. Is this a common problem I need to look at when purch. an Oday or just a rumor?
I own a 1983 O'Day 28 and I have not had any problems nor I have I heard of this being a design problem; however , as with any older boat a survey should be made before buying Good Luck
I have a 1983 Oday 28. There is no indication of such cracking, only minor/normal spider web lines at a few places on the deck aound the centerboard pulley cap. The 1983 Oday is a solid boat. Maybe later models (1985-6) experienced some problems.
