Does anyone have information/confirmation about a cabin arch support running port to starboard over the bulkhead in a 1977 Catalina 27. The seller advises that this was a standard factory installation for the model/year, but I can't find any other detail....

Not sure why you're asking, but....

...there is an imbedded support for the mast in the coach roof that spreads athwartship over the bulkheads and compression post. It is a structural part of the boat and I'm of the belief that all models of this generation had it. I'm thinking it's metal.....or at least solid fiberglass. I can't tell you how many times I've bumped my head on the thing. Tell us your problem with it.

Thanks

Thanks very much for the information and photo. The boat I am interested in purchasing shows this arch support in a photo, but it looks odd in the picture. I simply wanted to confirm whether it is factory standard for the model/year, or an addition or modification of some sort (which I feared may have been an indicator of deck delamination)
