I recently purchased a 1994 but very new Hunter 26. Unfortunately the previous owner lost several items including instruction manuals. To the point: 1. Does the cabin table lower to form a bed? If so, how? and where are the cushions? 2. Is there a cockpit table? There is a square receptacle in the cockpit that appears to be for a pedestal table. Maybe it's missing and I need to buy one. 3. When lowering the centerboard, how far does the line actually move. It appears to move only about 8 inches before I hear a clunk. Is that the centerboard dropping vertically? I have an owner's manual but it's remarkable silent on these subjects. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you, Dan Christensen

answer #1 no,doesn't,their are none #2 no, bet you have a tiller and not a wheel, I beleave the square is for wheel stearing # sounds about right, it uses a double block, takes a lot of force to raise John B

#1 - We spin the large end of the table around to extend the v-berth. We also use the middle curved bottom cushion on top of the table. #2 - Our boat came with a cockpit table stored in the v-berth under the cusions. #3 - sounds about right. Be careful, I've seen recent pictures of cracks due the clunk. I carefully lower my centerboard.

1,2 and 3 as Glenn said. However...

...the table support if reconstructed could allow the table to drop. There would be a step off on the setees in the 26. On the newer models (260 water ballast and 270 keel), the 270 table is configured from the factory to drop into a notch placed all around the sitting area. In the 260, the table support can be revised to allow this also but does not come from the factory as such. Check the current photo forum and archives. alan
