Besides the genoa track on the gunwhale, my 1994 C320 has a short track on either side of the deck just under the hand rail. Is this designed for a staysail or something else ?
It looks impressive, but the shrouds are in the way to use it as a smaller headsail (110 - 120% track, and it's too acute a sheeting angle to use for a non-overlaping jib.
don't know much about your boat, but you might try rigging it with a block on a car and see how it fares as a barber-hauler for the genny, or and inside lead postion for your working jib (or reefed headsail)... Give it a shot. Did it come like that from the factory?....Call the factory.
Some of you were as curious as I was about the function of the short genoa track located just ahead of the handrails. It came standard on my 1994. A Catalina rep told me that it can be used with a 110% genoa or storm jib.
