C310 Wheel removal to service the engine control box?

Couple of related things... I can't tell if my buzzer, engine sensors or wiring is at fault, but when I turn the key on with a cold engine, I thought the buzzer was supposed to sound due to low oil pressure (until the engine is started). Mine makes no such sound and want to make sure all of that works as it should. Can someone confirm what it should do on our boats? I have the Universal M-25XPBC engine.

If I need to replace the buzzer, how do you remove the wheel so I can access it? The big nut in the center comes off, but then there's the wheel threaded on to a shaft. I don't want to force something and mess up the steering cables, etc.

thanks!

The alarm must sound for low oil pressure before the engine starts because it really is a low oil pressure event (until the engine starts). Check the alarm for voltage before investing in a new one.

As far as how to access to the alarm, best left to a Catalina owner to explain that.

The wheel is not threaded to shaft If you look closely you will see small square in edge of wheel. There is a small square
piece that fits in grove in wheel and shaft. Just pull wheel straight back.

I have the same engine and my boat behaved the same way when I bought it. The oil pressure switch is grounded through the lift pump on the starboard aft side of the engine. In my case it was a faulty ground (and lift pump). The buzzer now works as it should when the key is turned. Checking the ground at the lift pump may save you a lot of trouble.

A part number and source would be nice. My buzzer is pretty weak and it is on my list to replace.
