The Admiral likes to walk on board, instead of climbing over the side (typical Admiral), so I always back into our slip and have removed the swim ladder unless we are going to swim. When sailing solo I get a little concerned about accidently stepping off the back end...has anyone out there added snap-on safety lines across the back in lieu of the swim ladder? Appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

Mount a 1" ss bimini jaws on the top of the sternrail on either side of the gate (tangs up). Mount the male ends on an appropriate length of 1" ss tubing. Use the supplied screw on one side and a quick release pin on the other. When the Admiral wants to board or disembark, pull the pin and flip the bar up and over to the other rail. Pin it in place while under weigh.

Ed, we also back into our slip, so I replaced the bolts on the swim ladder transom with removable pins. While backed against the dock, I can remove the pins, place the ladder in the water (in the normal position), and replace the pins. Before casting off, I reverse the process. The pins are held on the end of a thin cable screwed down to the transom, so they never get lost.
