Hello Everyone, Well this past weekend was the first offical outting with the NEW, to me, 1980 C30. One of the things I noticed is that it would be nice to get the main and traveler routed to the wheel. I have self tailing winches which are great. It would be nice if the rest of the rigging could be brought closer to the whell for single handing. I have a roller jib so that is no problem. Thanks for the input. Paul

mainsheet

Hi, I just bought a 30 myself and am looking for answers to your question as well. My traveler is located on the cabin top, and the best I have been able to come up with is to install a type of cam cleat where the mainsheet will be kept in position but you can easily cleat and uncleat. There is one on the market I beleive it's an XT cleat about $30.00 for the single. I hope other Cat owners will let us know what modifications if any have worked, especially on the mainsheet. David

mainsheet rigging

Call up Garhauer Marine for a mainsheet block and cam cleat. You can handle the mainshet from the wheel. And if you have the traveler car without blocks, look at their traveler cam cleats, that allow you to adjust them from the wheel. A C30 docked next to me did it and it works out very well.

Thanks for the info, could you describe this setup in detail?? My current setup makes it nearly impossible to handle the mainsheet alone from the wheel. Thanks for any help. David
