Has anyone installed the Catalina Direct HDPE type rudder? Was there a noticeable difference in performance?

Thanks for the reply. I have talked to Catalina Yachts about a rudder and that is a possibility but this rudder is a new design that is supposed to be an improvement on the factory design. I thought I would look into this rudder since the price is about the same.
in what can it be an improvement? in nine seasons on 5961 i've never noticed the rudder, one way or the other.
Mortyd, Your C 30 was built around 1991 if your hull number is 5961.
That means that you already have the improved / redesigned rudder from Catalina.
So how would you know the difference? The rudder redesign was for the early 1970's era C 30's that were not very well balanced compared to the new rudder design.

Improvements I am looking for as compared to other boats I have sailed: tracking, our boat has a tendency to drift to port under balance sail set and ease of steering, steering effort loads up quicker than I like with increased wind.

Morty, I'm jealous anyway - your 1991 has a lot of good upgrades compared to my ol' 1980. Hey, I'd be glad to trade with ya anytime if you want to "experience" the difference! lol. But my C 30 had a great option - it only cost me 9 grand to buy her for cash! Although its the boat upkeep & slip fees that are the real expense, right?
Ps. Barefoot: I would agree with Morty that I would go to Catalina Yachts first when it comes to something as essential as your rudder. I have bought several things that were aftermarket from catalina direct & the fit & finish were not that great. Their cockpit locker hinges were so huge that they protrude & catch your leg everytime you pass by them.
