I'm thinking about buying a 1996 Catalina MK3. The aloft survey says to replace the spreaders and upper shrouds. So far I am unable to identify the spar or end cap. Enclosed is a picture. Catalina Direct could not help. Can anyone identify the manufacture or part #? Or suggest a replacement? I can always have them machined, but prefer not too.

You might have sucess if you contact a spar manufacturer/supplier like RigRite, Dywer, etc with dimensions and photos to fiund out if they can supply the parts.

Call or send a message to the folks here at the SBO store. They just acquired a warehouse full of Catalina parts. They may have an idea.

As Stu said, Catalina Yachts would be my first call. Their customer service guy is great to work with.
Were the spreaders and end caps damaged or is there corrosion concerns?
Asking because I've read several times about replacing wooden spreaders but I don't remember anyone talking about replacing metal spreaders due to age.

Doug, what was the reported issue with the spreader? Was the surveyor concerned they are weak, or just that the ends are a little rough looking? If the latter, you might be happy with a new set of spreader boots.
