DougIt's a trade-off between improved light air performance and Genoa efficiency when reefed in for heavier air. So the decision should be based upon the type of sailing you do.Rule-of-thumb is that efficient reefed sail shape can be preserved only down to about 80% of the full size. Thus a 130% Genoa can efficiently reef down to around your "J" dimension (102%), but a 150% will efficiently reef to only down about a 120%, a little less than your present Genoa. Certainly, in heavy weather you can reef it down further -- but you won't be able to point as high or get as much drive from the sail.Modern Genoa roller-reefing technology has foam luff inserts, etc. that help maintain sail shape, but they only buy you a little extra reefing percentage range.--Ron
