C30 Engine Mounts

My '81 C30 has developed some engine vibration. She's been repowered at some time in the past with a 1-cylinder, BMW 12hp diesel. I don't know what changes may have been made in the engine mounts due to the "footprint" of this engine over the factory original Universal diesel. The two forward engine mounts appear to bolt to small wooden blocks, which in turn attach in some way to a pair of raised fiberglass stringers on the inner hull. One of these blocks may have come adrift; it can be moved by hand under the motor mount, although the two bolts that attach it to the stringer seem to be attached to "something" as they torque down tight. The stringers may be either solid or hollow -- I can't tell which -- but there's no access to any type of nut on these bolts, which leads me to believe they are lag bolts into the stringer itself. The rubber mounts themselves appear in good shape (I've owned the boat 3 months). Anyway, I have a mechanic coming next week to look this over but I'd appreciate any comments/suggestions so I can ask semi-intelligent questions of my mechanic. The vibration isn't too bad -- I'm not sure how long it's been like this -- but I don't want to chance bending the prop shaft. Mike Turner S/V Amity
