I have a 1979 C27 and I'm looking for imformation on type & location of vents for cabin . At this point there is no ventilation. I would appreciate any input , thanks in advance.

I have a C30 and the only openings are the hatch over the V berths and the companionway aft. I went to West Marine and bought a nylon fabric rig that mounts to the forward hatch cover and is held erect with the the spare halyard. In effect, it extends the size and therefore the wind gathering ability of the forward hatch cover. When anchored or moored, any breeze is directed through the boat and keeps it comfortable. It was the best $35 I ever spent on the boat.

Vents....

...I assume you are talking about ventilation with the hatches closed. I'd install a 3" solar powered intake vent on the foredeck over the V-berth and a 3" solar exit vent over the head. My hatch boards have louvers in them, problem is they are covered by canvas when I am away from the boat, I have seen passive or battery powered exit vents mounted on the hatch board. That is an option, I guess. If I wanted a third cabin vent I would consider a small passive or battery operated exit near the galley or maybe right on top of the main hatch..
