C27 teak trim mouldings

The small teak trim piece on my 1987 C27 has about 6 inches that has broken off. I would like to replace it but Catalina no longer makes that part. They do make it for the 25 but it is too short. It was suggested that I could splice it into mine but it also costs $88.00! Any suggestions?

Which trim?

Is it the trim in the cockpit on the house, either side of the companionway? If so, couldn't you remove the broken piece & use it as a template to make your own? That'll be your cheapest route. But be aware that the new piece won't match the older pieces in color for quite some time (depending on finish).LaDonna
