c25 wheel steering

[Future Beach Bum]

I'm looking at a 83 Catalina with wheel steering. Does any one have any experience with this? Was it a factory option or add on? My wife is holding out for a boat with wheel steering and this seems to be a good low cost solution. It is a fin keel, standard rig. Any and all comments welcome.Bum

Yes it was a factory option

As far as I know it was indeed a factory option during that part of the decade. I believe it was in response to other boat builders that were offering it at the time like MacGregor.Not sure if they stopped it or not. So if you don't like the one you are looking at you will find others.Happy Steering ,Dave
