Hello there. I just have a question for the other C22 owners. Having recently purchased a C22 after selling a heavier boat a few years ago, I was wondering how it will handle coastal cruising. I plan to keep it for the next 3 years before moving up to a Bayfield 25 and plan on some trips along the New Jersey coast and up towards Block Island. The Albin I had handled some pretty heavy stuff; what can I expect with the C22? All opinions will be appreiciated. Thanks, James

nice boat

We sailed our Catalina22 about ten miles offshore, and it handles fine! Of course if it was over 25knots, we didn't venture far. We have been caught in a few situations! The 22 is no blue water boat, but is ok for coastal cruising along with some common sense! Happy sailing!!

Thank you

Thanks guys. Our plans are to just cruise close to shore but we would like to visit Martha's Vineyard and Block Island sometime next summer. I also like the motion of the sea so I wouldn't want to sacrifice that if I didn't have to. However, you are correct...conditions determine when and where we sail. Thanks again, James
