I purchased a C22 last summer. It was real clean. Then when I was inspecting the area around the battery I noticed that the when I pressed on the inside of the hull area it was "squishy" and oozed a tiny bit of water. I then detected that that the cabin way isle also made a slight squish noise when I walked on it and under the seats at the table I also had soft and squish floors with a little water (light brown colored) that would ooze out.I took the boat to a boat yard and asked what they thought. The owner of the yard said he thought that it was only the foam filler that Catalina placed between the liner and the hull that was saturated with water and had little or no effect on hull integrity. The boat is now out of the water getting a bottom paint job and the hull feels firm from the outside.I'd still like to know how the hull is constructed (I have a 1979 vintatge model). Specifically, is it a sandwich with fiberglass around a wood core? Does anybody know?I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks
