Not so good if you're not living aboard. Depends on how your boat is wired. If the main panel has a bilge pump switch and needs to use that switch it would require the main (1-2-B) switch to be on, too. Some builders put the momentary switch on the panel, too. The most usual arrangement is to run the power directly to the house bank properly fused. When we bought our boat, only the float switch would operate the pump, so I installed a momentary on/off/run switch, too. You may be able to make a simple change: If the pump is wired to the C post of the 1-2-B switch, just move the bilge pump wire to the house bank post of the 1-2-B switch - it's just like wiring it to the house bank, different end of same wire. Fuse the bilge pump power wire behind the switch.
