Hello Rockstarnz, Welcome to the SBO site.

Build Papers? Are you interested in specs on the boat you have? If so, check the sailboatdata site. Maybe other members will have a brochure with some information from the time your boat was built. That might help. I found a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin for our Caliber when we had some confusion about the year it was produced. I received that paper from the company. At that time Caliber was still building boats in Florida. Regarding C & C, I don't know. Phil

If you are looking for the actual Builder's Certificate, you're probably out of luck. C&C yachts has gone bankrupt, reborn, bankrupt, reborn, bankrupt, and reborn again. Each time reborn in name only. The current company will know nothing about your yacht.

Talk to these guys:

http://southshoreyachts.com/

They bought all the C&C spare parts when C&C went belly-up, also acquired much of the company files.
I bought the original build docs for my C&C from them - was about $60.

Another source for drafted drawings is:
The Marine Museum of the Great Lakes. They have a website - contact the curator and they will sell you copies of the original drafted drawings for your particular boat (if they have them) George Cuthbertson donated much of his original drawings to the museum

You should also join the forum on:
CNCPhotoAlbum.com
It's the main forum for all C&C owners.
There is a wealth of knowledge on there.

Currently Rob is sailing in the So Pacific, so a reply may be some time in coming. Perhaps his partner Cory has the keys to the filing cabinets and can help in the interim....No doubt they have the build papers...

Remember that a Builders Certificate is a document UNIQUE to a particular boat. It attests that the builder built the boat (referenced by hull number) on a certain date for a particular owner. Companies still in business might be able to re-issue this. Once a company is gone, all you got a generic documents.
