I have a sailboat with a pump or macerator, there is several hoses going to it. I dont know what turns it on. I am thinking its like a pump it has 1 hose saying water inlet looks like its coming from the waste tank. what makes this thing run, how do I manually turn it on. Is it a pump, macerator, what is it. I have a bilge pump, I know that works. I could also use some kind of a schematic to check out some hanging wires in my head. It has about 4 hoses, plus a 1/2 pipe. where is the electrical for this?? Is it a macerator, a waste pump, a pump of some kind??????? I have lots of questions.

Macerator pump is like a kitchen sink disposal. It chops up solids to a very fine pieces then dumps in the water through a 1" out-hull. It's intake usually is 1 1/2" hose that is connected to the pump-out or to the holding tank. It should be easy to figure out. There should be a switch on your circuit beaker panel that is labeled Macerator to turn on the pump.
