Hi, I have a 1984 C&C 29 Mk2. The lifeline stanchion attachment plate cracked today and I need to replace the stanchion. The stanchion is stainless steel and is inserted into what appears to be a cast aluminum base plate with a set screw. The base plate is screwed into the deck rail. Does anyone know if the SS stanchion can be removed from the base plate? All the screws are SS but are seized up. I've tried wd40. This is the starboard side stanchion at the cockpit entry that you clip the life longs into to secure. I assume I'll have to drill out screws but when done, I'll need at least a new base if not the whole stanchion assembly. Thanks for any help finding this part.

The stanchion can be removed from the base bracket unless it is severely corroded in place. The hole in the bracket is made slightly oversized to allow for easy removal.
