I want to pass along info to guys who mite need it in the future. My 1976 O'day 25 c/b pendant housing only has a half inch diameter hole from the c/b housing to the 1 inch diameter housing from the bilge up to the cockpit bulkhead. I taped my messenger to the old pendant and the tape came off and balled up into a plug. I had to cut open the housing at the bilge area to unplug it. DON'T USE TAPE. SEW IT. I sewed and taped. now I have a repair to do that has to be waterproof. gene

To clarify: I had to open up the pendant housing at a point just above the bottleneck area near the cabin floor level to pry the new pendant up thru that point. I sewed a messenger line into the new pendant starting at the waxed pointy end so the pendant and messenger would be in line with each other to avoid the pendant end trying to double over and binding. DO NOT USE TAPE TO ATTACH MESSENGER TO PENDANT. I tried that and got a wad of tape wedged that plugged the hole(half inch diameter) which is why I had to cut into the housing to free it up. gene
