I just took delivery of a new C-350 (Connemara - #119) and opted not to purchase the factory supplied bed linen thinking that a full size fitted sheet set would fit the berth in the aft compartment. Wrong answer - the sheet is not long enough. Before going out and buying a different size or ordering custom bedding, I thought some more experienced C-350 owners might share their solutions. Also, what did you do with the odd-shaped forward berth? Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Bed linens

By trial and error, I think I figured this one out, raiding my own linen closet. I am sure that this is cheaper than the Catalina-supplied linens, plus if you are picky about thread count etc... Aft berth--use a KING sized fitted sheet ( tucking in any excess). Top sheet, you can get by with an old queen or even double sheet if you just have a single sleeping there. Forward berth--a queen sized fitted sheet will fit on the mattress. Be sure and get one that is for deeper mattresses, and it will work, with a little tugging from you. Again, a queen flat sheet is a fairly good fit . Hope this helps.

C350 Bed Linen

We wanted linen that would fit the berths so we purchased the linen from Catalina when we ordered our 350. You might be able to get someone to make at least the bottom sheet to fit the mattresses.

We used the same mix as Ruth, not a problem. No matter what that aft berth is a horror to make.

Knotting the sheets

Over the years, having delt with many different odd bearth configerations I have knotted the corners of flat sheets to get them to stay tucked in. Sometimes I use this trick on the bottom sheet if I can't get a fitted sheet to work. I have a 350 that I use queen size sheets on the v with knots in the top sheet and a king fitted on the aft with a queen flat sheet knotted at the bottom.

Thanks for the advice

Tried the king size fitted and queen size flat on the aft berth and it worked great. Used a queen set on the forward and with a little tucking (aided by a yard stick) also worked well. Thanks for the suggestions. They were much appreciated.

response to your sheet question

Our 350 (Doc Holiday) was delivered 2 months ago (hull 61) and we use queen sheets in both forward and aft cabins. They work fine, but if you are concerned about the length, Company Store sells extra long sheets. We tried those garter belt devices for the corners but they did not work well. Good luck.
