I am planning to install a battery charger. Does anyone have a suggestion for a location? I was thinking about under the nav station above the bateries.
I had to get a new charger this summer, I had to mount it under the rear birth. I mounted it to a 12" piece of 2x10 and it lays there real nice. If you put it inder the nav table you can't lift the shelf to get the batterys out.At least thats the way it is on my 85C-30Good luck, Dean
I mounted mine on the aft side of the nav station OUTSIDE. Drilled a hole on that side for the wires to go inside and connect to the batteries and plug the charger in the 110 outlet over the starboard settee. The 110 wire could be run through the nav station and permanently hardwired. The charger gets proper ventalation in this location.
I also wired mine to the AC outlet, (in a way)I put an extension cord end on it, through a hole in the nav table. This way I can actually drain the batterys (by unplugging the charger to the AC outlet) and let the deep cycle batterys drain properly and then recharge at a better time.
