C 22 Was foam floation an option in the 1970's?

My 1974 C 22 seems to have expanded foam floation in several areas of the hull. About 1/2 the storage cubby holes are filled with foam along with areas around the 2 aft seat/lockers too. Does anyone know about this ? Some one told me this was a option at the time of purchase. Does it mean I'm unsinkable? Thanks, Bob

Unsinkable?

Why, yes, you and your foam flotation are unsinkable. Similarly, with a few beers in me, I can knock down the five biggest guys in the bar! Seriously, though, do a search through the archives using "flotation" as your search word. I know I saw a couple of threads on that question when I was poking around there.
