C-22 MkII Whiskerpole

I just bought a whiskerpole for my C-22 mkII. I have a ring at the base of the mast (part of the mast raising system). Has anyone found this to be an acceptable place to attach your pole? Otherwise I will need to mount a separate ring on the mast. Thanks.

You really need a spinnaker/whisker pole eye mounted so that your pole is level. If you use more than one sail you should think about using a track on the front of the mast and a spinnaker car. That is what I have on mine. Take a look at APS
