BVI weather in September or October...Is that a good time to charter? Not sure when the hurricane season begins or ends but would like to know from others who chartered that time of year. Thanks

Oh, come on ! ! ! Is this a trick question ? ? ..... Does anyone in the Western Hemisphere not know when the peak of the Caribbean hurricane season is??

Yeah, but

The Virgin Islands are out of the mainstream of the Huricanes. It's very rare that they see the storms. Maybe once every 20 years.

Be sure and take out trip insurance

because you may need it. It is like rolling the dice. You may make it or not.

Sept and Oct in BVI

September 10th is the "peak" date of the huricane season, but the storms can come anytime. August and September is generally light air and hotter, except for stormy weather. Here is a practical point about the time frame: September is the slowest part of the tourism season, and many of the locals take their vacations during this time. Therefore, many restaruants, hotels, etc. may be closed at that time. Generally, everyone is back to work early October.

Ummm...

Steve, the Virgins are right smack dab in the MIDDLE of hurricane alley and it is rare when they do NOT see storms. David, get the trip insurance. BTW the "season" is June 1st- Nov.30th.
